SumView is a matlab7 based program used to visualize optical imaging data collected by CortiPlex. SumView reads in data files and outputs image maps. The output files are organized as a series of image frames corresponding to the time course of the response to one stimulus condition. The subroutines can be used in developing your own analysis programs.
Two different SumView programs are available for optical imaging data evaluation. SumView5.m, generates single block and average block maps but is limited in its image analysis features. SumView6.m generates maps averaged over blocks but doesn’t make single block maps. However, this program contains many additional image map analysis options (e.g. filtering) not present in SumView5.m. SumView calls several other matlab sub-routine functions the user does not need to modify.

Input Data
Optical imaging data should be either 32-bit or 16-bit integer DC type. SumView*.m can analyze the following data types:
  CortiPlex data files (16-bit integer).
Optical Imaging 3001VDAQ files (usually 32-bit integer). Optical Imaging data of previous formats should first be converted to the newer format.

Activation to finger stimulation of primate SI cortex stained with voltage sensitive dye.
Camera View
Output
SumView*.m generates large image files that contain a series of image frames that represent the time course of activation for one stimulus condition. The one stimulus condition can also be specified as an average of a set of conditions or a subtraction between two sets of conditions. The output files are created in the folder where the user runs SumView*.m (matlab current folder).
